Death Toll From Pakistan Toxic Liquor Incident

Death toll from toxic liquor incident increases to 42

The death toll has risen to 42 as 10 more people affected by toxic liquor died overnight,” doctor Asif Mehmood Saleemi, the administrator of state-run District Headquarters hospital, told DPA.

 

 

Location:

The incident happened in a Christian neighbourhood in the town of Toba Tek Singh Christmas Eve in Punjab.

Police in eastern Punjab province took all alcohol sellers in the district of Toba Tek Singh, the site of the incident, into custody for questioning, Muhammad Shahbaz, a local police official, told DPA.

Four people have been identified who prepared and distributed the toxic liquor.
